We will be sharing all 10 of the #BossSummerChallenge winners throughout the month with extra details for each specific project.

Let’s kick it off with the 1st place project by Art by Philip Roberts. This wonderful piece is 4′ by 8′, including the black walnut frame. It’s 12 layers of mahogany plywood and was left in natural coloring. When finished, it was then lacquered 3 or 4 times. Each layer spans the full length rather than splitting up the artwork into pieces (each layer is a full piece of 4×8′ plywood).

Philip named it “Alleviation” because of the way he felt when it was finished.
